A Florence City cop goes 15 mile outside of his district to investigate a "goosenapping" near Big Bone State Park. The alleged crime is four children and their mother helped a mother duck (not a goose) and her babies across the Chick-fil-A parking lot so that cars would not hit them. An employee of Chick-fil-A came out accusing the family of stealing the ducks and called the Florence Police. All I can say is ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!
James, Did he say something before you started recording that made you be so defensive right away? You were within your rights to ask him to leave, of course, and you weren’t compelled to have Nicki talk to him. But it doesn’t help your cause to appear strident or uncooperative with law enforcement. A gentle reproach turns away wrath.
My reply:
E,
He said the worst thing he could possibly have said. He yelled immediately: "Come out or I will call the Child Welfare Services!" This is a Federal offense, not to mention being totally unethical. He will quickly get up the wrath of any parent (I should say Godly Wrath!) by taking such an approach. These guys use this tactic all the time, and it is time it was stopped.
You also should understand that this fellow had been asked to leave at least three times at the point I got the computer signed on and the video working, and by Federal law he was obligated to leave.
R. B. has already replied and said yes you can get the IPA, so we will find out for really sure sooner or later I guess; but I already know. I state in my blogpost that I had already asked him to leave three times. That might have made me sound a little "offensive" as in what part of NO don't you understand?
